CBgameDev Tools License Agreement

This License Agreement ("Agreement") governs the use of software tools developed and distributed under the name CBgameDev, including but not limited to Project Optimise and Level Optimise (the "Tools").

These tools are intended to assist developers in identifying potential bugs and optimisation opportunities in Unreal Engine projects.

By purchasing, downloading, accessing, or using the Tools, you agree to the terms of this Agreement.

1. License Grant

CBgameDev grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Tools in Unreal Engine projects for personal or commercial use.

The Tools may be used in the development of games, applications, or other interactive projects created with Unreal Engine.

2. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share the Tools themselves.

  • Package the Tools for resale as part of another plugin, asset pack, or development tool.

  • Make the Tools publicly available for download outside of authorised marketplaces.

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Tools except where permitted by law.

  • Remove or modify copyright or ownership notices included with the Tools.

  • You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse substantial portions of the Tools’ functionality, logic, or analysis systems for the purpose of creating a competing product.

The Tools may be used within your projects, but the Tools themselves may not be redistributed.

3. Ownership

All intellectual property rights in the Tools remain the property of CBgameDev.

This Agreement grants a license to use the Tools but does not transfer ownership.

4. Marketplace Terms

If the Tools are obtained through a third-party marketplace (such as the FAB marketplace), the marketplace's license terms and distribution policies may also apply.

5. No Warranty

The Tools are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

CBgameDev makes no guarantees regarding performance, reliability, compatibility, or fitness for a particular purpose.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall CBgameDev be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Tools, including but not limited to:

  • loss of data

  • project issues

  • development delays

  • lost revenue or profits

Use of the Tools is entirely at your own risk.

7. Informational Nature of the Tools

The Tools analyse Unreal Engine projects and report potential issues or optimisation opportunities.

The Tools do not automatically modify project content.

Results provided by the Tools are informational only and should be reviewed and verified by the user before making any development or project decisions.

8. Engine Compatibility

The Tools are developed for specific versions of Unreal Engine. Compatibility with future engine versions is not guaranteed.

CBgameDev will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility with newer Unreal Engine versions where possible, but updates or fixes for future engine versions cannot be guaranteed.

9. Updates and Changes

CBgameDev may update or modify this Agreement at any time.
