New Quick Dev Insights Interview Out!
This time, I spoke with Pav Gekko, an award-winning composer and audio director, about:

Designing Dynamic Game Music Systems

Check out our bite-sized interview πŸ‘‰ over on Substack

We cover:
πŸ”Έ Designing music that adapts and reacts to gameplay
πŸ”Έ Using Wwise and Unreal Engine to connect music and mechanics
πŸ”Έ Composing for moments, not minutes; thinking in loops, layers, and states
πŸ”Έ Collaborating across teams to make music part of world-building
πŸ”Έ Lessons learned from scoring Spirit of the North 2 and beyond

I first met Pav at a local game dev meetup many years ago. It’s been great to see him grow over the years, working on some great projects and even picking up an award along the way. He has always been friendly and shown a real passion for music.

That’s why I thought he would be a great fit for a Quick Dev Insights interview on composing for games. I reached out to him, and he mentioned how he implements music into games via Wwise, and it blurs the lines between composition and music design.

It sounded like a fascinating topic to explore, and as you can read, it really was!

I thoroughly enjoyed hearing his insights into dynamic music for video games, and I am sure you will too!
